Burj Tower is presently under construction in Dubai and is the tallest skyscraper in the world. It is also the centerpiece of the Gulf’s most prestigious urban development in Dubai city and should not be missed during Dubai travel. Burj in Arabic basically means ‘Tower’. So, Burj Dubai means “tower of Dubai” or “Dubai tower”. It is expected to rise up to 700 meters in height. The design of the tower was influenced by the patterns of Islamic architecture and the six petal desert flower. The tower is being built on the Sheikh Zayed Road which is expected to be situated within a man-made lake. A combination of commercial, entertainment, residential, commercial and leisure outlets will also surround it along with water features, open green spaces and pedestrian boulevards.

The design of the tower is in such as way that the wind’s impact would be reduced and also allows for more space - as it ascends.

The Burj Dubai will be the core of a large-scale, multifaceted development area comprising nine hotels, 30,000 homes etc. The hotels such as Burj Dubai Lake Hotel & Serviced Apartments will find a place here. It will also comprise of six acres of parkland, the Dubai mall, at least 19 residential towers, and the 12 hectare Burj Dubai Lake.

The Burj tower is constructed in such a way that the base of the tower blossoms as it reaches upwards and tapers gracefully into a spire at the top. Here, tourists will be able to have a superb view of the city from the Observation Deck during their visit to Dubai. The dome shaped structure has a series of steps that lead up the vertical height of the building.

The tower on completion will be the most prestigious real estate place on the planet. The iconic Burj Dubai Tower will be in the center of this developmental area and will be the world’s tallest building upon completion in March 2009. This large building will not only be home to some greatly planned residential complexes but also will contain the worlds highest observation deck as well as the worlds first 6 star rated Armani Hotel. The building will also comprise the world’s largest shopping mall, many high rise buildings and beautiful old style type of village. All of these are expected to be completed by the end of 2009. The tower is one of the most popular Dubai attractions which must be seen during one’s visit to Dubai.

At intervals, the Burj Dubai Boulevard will open out in four main piazzas (named Piazza of Water, Wind, Fire and Earth) which will finally lead to the Tower Park, surrounding Dubai Tower. Tower Park will have almost 15 hectares of land and contain manicured lawns, water cascades and exotic plant terraces.
