The Dubai sports city will have a 25000 seat cricket ground, a 10,000 seat indoor arena, a 5000 seat field hockey stadium,a multipurpose outdoor stadium etc. The main sports structure will be the 60,000 seat and will be used for athletics and possibly rugby union, football and cricket. The stadium will also be a base to the WorldHockey Academy and UAE hockey academy. The Hockey Stadium which is located in the Dubai Sports City Academy’s Campus has world-class facilities for local enthusiasts and international athletes. The World Hockey Academy is unique of its kind and the first such facility in the whole world. The WorldHockey Academy by means of a partnership between International Hockey Federation and Dubai Sports City will provide coaching at the highest professional level. Coaching will be given by great hockey coaches, many of whom have represented their countries in the international arena. The complex will also have an 18-hole golf course named the Dunes which will be the hub of a luxury residential community namely the Victory Heights. . The Pakistan Cricket Board signed 3 year agreement to hold ODIs at Dubai Sports City on September 25 2008.
Dubai Sports City will also have a world-class medical facility, including a rehabilitation and specialist sports medicine centre. This facility will also provide 24 hour emergency services as well as the main medical services for the entire development.
