Dubai – A well developed and vibrant city
Dubai is one of the seven emirates that comprise the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The city is famous for its liberal policies and superb infrastructure. The city is also noted for its entertainment Parks and other major events and shopping centers which must be seen during Dubai travel.
Events and Dubai attractions
Wild Wadi - Wild Wadi is a superb locale that has 23 rides to entertain and excite everyone in the family. This place is visited by those wanting to escape the heat of the desert. The Jumeirah Sceirah - a 33-meter high slide with steep angles and the Breakers Bay, will be immensely enjoyed by visitors.
Wonderland - This 18 hectare family fun park has many water attractions such as surf hills, wave runners, Caribbean cruise and speed slides. On Sundays this park is closed and is open on Wednesdays for Ladies Only.
Magic Planet – This is a children’s entertainment center that is housed in the giant Deira City Centre shopping mall. It is a rare indoor site which has a crawling bungie jungle, 10 pin bowling, a mini pitch and putt and many electronic games.
The snow dome – This will help you experience the coolness of the Arctic in the midst of the desert. It has the complete feel of the Arctic islands with fully snow capped mountains and a unique blue ceiling which is a must see place during your visit to Dubai.
Other Attractions
You can explore the Dubai desert during your Dubai travel by going there in groups. This will also help you know about other people and also facts about the Arabic culture. Desert safaris are arranged for half days and generally include an overnight stay in one of the Bedouin tents.
1. Wadi-Driving - This involves exploring dry beds of streams that flow from the Hajar mountains and is a favorite pastime of visitors and residents.
2. Dune driving – Visitors also love to take a drive through the sands which can be both challenging and thrilling. You can also take up courses in sand driving with four-wheel-drive vehicles that are provided.
3. Sand-Skiing – You can also enjoy skiing down the dunes of the Dubai desert which is liked by all with a penchant for speed.
4. Creek tours – By means of an organized creek tour, the Dubai creek can be explored. This is a nice way to see the old as well as new Dubai while at the same time enjoying a nice journey.
Dubai has immense possibilities for indoor go-karting at Formula One. Visitors to Dubai can enjoy this sport during the months of Oct-May. Camel racing is also the popular and most famous sport of Dubai. There are official as well as informal desert tracks that have been assigned for this purpose such as the large ten kilometer track on the Al Ain road, Umm Al Quwain and Dubai itself. Horse riding attracts crowds of more than 15,000. Race meetings are held once a week at one of the 4 race courses of Dubai. This sport is a part of the local tradition and is upheld today by many leading centers such as Dubai Equestrian Centre and Jebel Ali Hotel Riding Stables.
Dubai is called the “shopping capital of the Middle East”. The place has so many souks and malls where products can be bought at unbeatable prices. The numerous shopping malls of Dubai have products suiting every consumer’s need. Jewellery, electronics, furnishing, cars, haute couture, clothing, sporting equipment, electronics and any other goods can be easily purchased at these shopping centers.
Leisure
Various activities can be undertaken while traveling in Dubai such as swimming in the warm waters of the beaches to snow skiing in the Middle East’s real-snow ski centre. There are also much possibilities for pursuing other sports activities such as cricket, archery, rugby, go-karting, football, softball and netball.
